Purchase Policy

Our goal at Life Rescuer is to make your course registration experience easy, efficient and equitable, so you can get your training as quickly as possible.  Our policies are designed to ensure your satisfaction and understanding of our online registration process. Before completing your registration, please review your selection and make sure that is the correct date and class. Your registration must be completed at least 12 to 24 hours before the course start date to reserve your space and equipment.  Course confirmations are sent via email ONLY within 24 hours after your registration.  It is your responsibility to verify your email. Course reminders are not issued.  

Walk-in on the day of the course is NOT accepted. You must contact becomealiferescuer@gmail.com 48 hours before the starting date of the course for course availability and location

Once an individual has registered and paid for a course, a spot is reserved for that individual. 

Please bring a receipt of your course registration to the day of the class.  Class sizes are limited to a maximum 6 participants per session.  Please read carefully our cancellation/refund/transfers policy.

To be eligible for the renewal BLS for HCP (C), the participant must be a current BLS for HCP provider within a year. You must bring your CPR card as proof on the day of the course.  If your card is expired, you have to take the initial course at the price listed.

To be eligible to register to HSFC Provider or Renewal of PEARS, ACLS EP, ACLS or PALS courses, the participant must show a current HSFC - BLS within 12 months.

Once you have received confirmation of your reservation for the training course, you will be liable for the entire course fee unless you give notification of cancellation (see Course cancellation/refund/transfer policy)

Our Standard First Aid and CPR, AED (C), 2 days course, is offered with the manual.  Whether you had a HSFC manual or not, the price remains the same.  

Payment Methods

Life Rescuer uses PayPal, a secure, reputable method of paying for your course online.  1) PayPal accepts Debit card, American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover Card, or you can use your personal PayPal account. 2) e-transfer to becomealiferescuer@gmail.com

HSFC certification

Participant must complete both practical and written exams before receiving their card.

For all Participants, you will receive a Heart and Stroke Foundation letter of completion upon successfully passing the course per request.  Your certification card will be issued by Heart and Stroke Foundation Canada.

If you are a student, please register to the course early to allow your card to arrive to destination before your next appointment with Paramed - Clinical Placement.

At the end of our classes, you will receive your ecard in pdf format from HSFC when you have completed successfully the practical and written exams.  By taking HSFC courses, you accept to follow HSFC guideline for course content and length. If you want to join our HSFC - ACLS and PALS courses, please kindly note that we ONLY accept HSFC - BLS current certification within 12 months.  Any BLS certification with other organization will not be qualified and registration to HSFC - ACLS or PALS courses will be cancelled.

Course manuals & handouts

Please purchase the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Manuals and follow the CPR Guidelines to use as references and to prepare for the course.  Although every care has been taken in preparing the information contained in our handout, Life Rescuer does not and cannot guarantee the accuracy thereof.  Anyone using the information does so at his/her own preference/risk and shall be deemed to indemnify Life Rescuer from any and all injury or damage arising from such use.  We welcome being informed of any corrections or changes to be made to the information on our handout.

Course materials

Online buyer is responsible to provide accurate address information.  To reduce shipping cost, we strongly recommend buyer to pick up his/her materials. Since our shipment is free, Life Rescuer assumes no liability for any lost due to wrong address or Canadian Post shipment error, unless buyer wishes to purchase insurance.

Code of Conduct

All participants must arrive to the course prepared and ready for the class. Please take time to read the course manuals and handouts prior to attending our classes. The participant is responsible to attend the course on time, 100% participation and success the written and practical tests per the Heart and Stroke Foundation's Guidelines.

In order to facilitate learning, Life Rescuer expects each participant to be responsible, respectful toward each other and toward their instructor.  The participant is expected to perform safely the skills taught during the course.  Please turn off the ringers of the cell phone during class and minimize noises. We work hard to deliver quality service to our participants and promote positive learning experience for each participant. We do not tolerate verbal abuse and violent among participants or toward our instructors during classes. If you have any concerns, stress, any misunderstandings or misinterpretations of the materials delivered to you, please kindly speak to our instructor politely and privately.

For any participant with disruptive behaviors such as refusal to participate, use intimidation, violence and bullying toward other or show disrespect toward Life Rescuer instructors, students or staff, Life Rescuer will reserve the right to terminate teaching session of this participant with no refund or credit and refuse his/her re-admission to our course. Also, this participant will be held responsible for any damages (materials or injuries) caused by his/her misconduct if applicable.

Social distancing Policies and COVID Vaccine

All participants must follow restrict rules to minimize spread of Covid 19. If the participant or the instructor has signs and symptoms or under quarantine by Public Health, he/she must cancel the course immediately and notify Life Rescuer to reschedule the course. All participants must complete the Covid 19 pre-screening and consent form before entering the class. All participants must wear their face masks at all times during the course. All participants must perform proper hand hygiene and keep distance of 2 m from each other. All participants must follow health and safety guidelines set by provincial, and federal legislations and regulations. All training materials and procedures must follow HSFC guidelines. For any participant who refuses to comply to the social distancing policies, he/she must leave the course immediately with no course refund or reimbursement.

Effective October 2021, all participants and instructors must provide proof of at least one-dose of approved COVID-19 vaccine to participate in any in-person learning or on-site activities. 

Cancellation/Refund/Transfer Policy/Discount

Although highly not recommended due to limited space, the walk-in student on the day of the course will be accepted with online PayPal payment.   The walk-in student must bring the exact amount and pay in full at the beginning of the course. ONLY if the student arrives early and space is available. In this case, the registration is processed on a first come, first-served basis. We do not accept personal cheque.  We only accept e-transfer or PayPal.

If you are unable to attend Standard First Aid, ACLS, ACLS EP, BLS, PEARS, or PALS course, please contact us 15 full business days in advance of the course start time in order to obtain a refund minus an administration fee or transfer directly to another course without charge. Otherwise, no refund will be issued.

If you are unable to attend BLS course, please contact us 7 full business days in advance of the course start time in order to obtain a refund minus administration fee or transfer directly to another course without charge. Otherwise, no refund will be issued.

For ACLS, ACLS EP, PALS, PEARS, if a student fails the practicum and passes the written exam, he/she can come to another similar class with a team to remediate x 1 with no extra charge within the time and location offered by Life Rescuer. If the student fails the written exam and passes the practicum, he/she can return to rewrite the written exam x 1 within the time and location offered by Life Rescuer.  

After remediation, the student continues to fail. He/she is responsible to repay and repeat the full course. 

No refund issued to student who fails the course (practicum and written) 

No refund issued to student who refuses to return for remediation.

For Standard First Aid, BLS, HEARTSAVER. PEARS, ACLS EP, ACLS, PEARS, and PALS cancellation with less than 7 business days' notice prior to the start of a course, registration fees are not refundable. You will be allowed to transfer into another Life Rescuer course within 30 calendar days of the original course start date. If you are unable to attend the course within one month, you will be required to re-register and pay again for the course.

For Standard First Aid, BLS, HEARTSAVER, PEARS, ACLS EP, ACLS, PEARS, and PALS courses, if you canceled 15 days before the course start date only the 50$ admission fee is applied. Any cancellation for ACLS and PALS, 50$ admission fees will be non-refundable.  Cancellation 8-15 days before the course, 50% course fees will be refunded.  Any 8 days cancellation or less before the course, NO refund can be given. Exception for infectious diseases, physician's notes justified illness. Any other last-minute cancellation, NO refund can be given.

You are responsible for your online payment transaction.  If any mistake is made on your behalf, no refund will be issued.

For ACLS, PEARS, ACLS EP, and PALS registration criteria, you are responsible for communicating clearly with Life Rescuer or contact HSFC regarding the BLS requirement, once registered to these courses, you may subject to partial refund if you do not meet the requirement.

Please note that business days do not include Saturdays, Sundays and statutory holidays.

No Refunds or course transfers for nonattendance to a course.

Discount is valid within one year from the issue date.  Life Rescuer Member discount may vary depending on the number of courses registered.

Latecomers will not be accepted to the course.  The arrangement must be made to transfer to another course. An additional late fee will be applied.

No Show Participant - The participant who does not show up to class and did not notify us within a reasonable time before the start of the class is considered a NO SHOW. We do not honor a refund or credit for NO SHOW student. The transfer is not allowed for NO SHOW.

Cancelled or Postponed Events

Occasionally, courses are cancelled or postponed due to circumstances (low enrolment, weather, etc.). Notification of any changes will be made via Life Rescuer email at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled start of the course via your PayPal email account. When this occurs, Life Rescuer will make every effort to ensure that you receive a prompt refund through PayPal. It is your responsibility to always check your PayPal email regarding course cancellation because you are registered with us through this official email.

Life Rescuer assumes no liability for cancellation of the courses for any reason. Any ancillary costs related to the student taking a class (including but not limited to: airfare, travel, hotel, per-diem, mileage, lost employee wages or salary) are the responsibility of the student and/or the employer. If a class is cancelled by Life Rescuer, Life Rescuer's liability is limited to the amount of the registration fee ONLY. It is suggested that, prior to making any travel reservations, you contact becomealiferescuer@gmail.com or call (416) 518-3991 to confirm if a class has sufficient enrolment.

If a course is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund. Please make sure to include/provide your transaction confirmation number so we can expedite your refund if applicable.

Private teaching with Life Rescuer Instructor

When booking your course privately, please make arrangements early to allow Life Rescuer to find a safe classroom location to accommodate your learning. Payment must be paid in full prior to the course. Once the arrangement is made, the participant is responsible to attend the course on time.  Late or NO SHOW will not receive any refund. Cancellation must follow our cancellation policy above, otherwise, no refund.

After paying the full course fee, the participant is responsible to attend the course per schedule. Any cancellation of the course please read our cancellation policy and cancelled and postponed events. Any ancillary costs related to the student taking a class (including but not limited to airfare, travel, hotel, per-diem, mileage, lost employee wages or salary) are the responsibility of the student and/or the employer.

Health and Safety

Please arrive to the course in a loose and comfortable clothing. Able to do chest compressions for 2 minutes on a mannequin in a standing or kneeling position is recommended. The participant is responsible to demonstrate capacity to perform chest compressions adequately per the Heart and Stroke Guideline for all basic CPR courses.

Please remove lipstick as it can stain the faces of the mannequins and do not eat during class as food particles can be blown into the lung bags. Please, no gum chewing. If you have long hair, please keep it tight up to facilitate your skill practice on manikin when providing rescue breathing.

If on the day of the course, you have a cold, flu, fever, infected runny nose, open wounds, sore throat, cold sores, gastroenteritis symptoms or any other infectious condition, please contact us before the course start date and time to reschedule your training at another time when you are feeling better and can fully benefit from the course content. 

If you suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19 or recently travelled outside of Canada, you are not allowed/attend training. Please contact us to reschedule your training.

If you have any medical condition or disability that might prevent you from taking part in these practice sessions, please contact us before the day of the training.  Also, If you are presently pregnant, have recent surgeries, history of cardiac conditions or other health problems (shoulder tears, back and wrist chronic pain), please check with your physician for approval before you register to our courses.

Course length, content and time

Please ensure that you select the class at the right time to learn as we will not change the course content, time or length to accommodate individual appointment or personal work schedule or other reasons as this is unfair for other participants.  Please note: The instructor will not rush or make any exception to accommodate individual preference for any early departure. If you cannot attend this course for personal reasons, you are welcome to contact us to arrange another time accordingly to the cancellation policy above.

Our Privacy Policy

By purchasing a course with Life Rescuer, you agree to receive email updates from us (e.g., course location, time and class changes). Your personal information will not be shared at any other time with any other party but may be used to contact you once your certification expires, or to inform you about other courses we offer that may be of interest to you.

Registration Agreement and Liability Waiver 

By taking the courses with Life Rescuer, I have read, understood and agreed to Life Rescuer terms and condition indicated at http://www.liferescuer.ca/terms-and-conditions.php. I acknowledge that the course involves physical strain, the possibility of cross-infection, and emotional stress and agrees to inform the instructor of any injury or condition that could be aggravated by my participation in the course and that the Life Rescuer, its employees, directors, officers and agents will not be responsible or liable for any claim, demand, action, present or future physical/emotional damages, or any other losses or liabilities of any description whatsoever which may arise from or in any way be attributed to any illness or injuries which are sustained by the course or aggravated while participating in any course or activity.

I understand that the use of any courses (Standard First Aid, HEARTSAVER PEARS, ACLS EP, ACLS, PEARS, and PALS) must be approved and compliant to my workplace policies and procedures. I understand that the completion of the course taken with Life Rescuer does not grant the permission to practice the skills learned. 

I agree to follow the course guidelines as reference. In no case will Life Rescuer or its employees or principal administrators, founders, owners or agents be liable for any special, consequential, direct or indirect damages including any physical injury, negligence, misinterpretation of the guidelines, mental trauma, death of a person, loss of profits or position, credit, licensure or employment and /or any loss or injury whatsoever arising out of the use or inability to execute the resuscitation steps. 

By indicating my acceptance of this agreement and waiver, I accept that I have read and understood that I am giving up substantial rights, including the right to sue. I am signing the agreement and waiver freely and voluntarily. I intend by acceptance to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law . 

I understand the need for significant pre-course preparation, and I understand that without adequate pre-course preparation I may not successfully complete the course or courses (Standard First Aid, HEART SAVER, BLS, PEARS, PALS, ACLS EP, ACLS) that I enroll with Life Rescuer.
